Free Speech is not universally protected, and Tumblr is telling us clearly that its policy is going into place to PROTECT USERS, exactly the opposite of SOPA's intention. Okay okay, this is beautiful, so for one SOPA was about censorship, banning material on a blog if I’m not mistaken is a censorship. Second of all regardless of how dangerous it may be these blogs are not being forced upon anyone. Users are looking for them, so if they found it on tumblr they will find it someplace else. The fact that it’s on tumblr does’t change the fact that they are looking for it. Just because there are people suffering from this who can’t control themselves does not mean these blogs should be censored. There are plenty of people suffering from alcoholism. Which btw kills a lot more people each year. By your logic tumblr should start banning all blogs that
encourage drinking. It would be “PROTECTING USERS”.
Don’t tell me to shut the fuck up when you don’t even realize the consequences of your beliefs.
